Marriage is a crazy thing in the United States. Some people can marry, others can’t. Some intentionally chose a state of independence, some can’t find the matching lid to their pot, while some marry early or late in life. People marry for money, power, or to simply have children. There are also those who marry for love. Here is the great news for those who can’t find the right person, it is never too late to get married - for all you straight couples out there anyway. I know this because my grandma just got married, yes she did! Not only did she get married, they completely and totally eloped. WOW, talk about getting with the times. Of course, as her concerned family, some of us did talk to the new couple about simply moving in together to test the waters before marriage, but that was obviously too liberal. I mean, what would the neighbors say? So, for those of you who have the legal right to marry, don’t fret. Someday your princess or prince charming will gather you up into a new hybrid car to gloriously ride into the sunset.
Joel was the big shocker at the party. We did not tell my grandma, or her new husband Jim, that Joel had flown in for the event. There is a wonderful shot as Joel walked into the party where Grams and Jim were receiving their guests. My grandma was in all her glory! There must have been 200 people at the party; however, Joel created the best response of all! He is obviously the favorite, as all youngest children are...no, I am not bitter. Of course my family and I had to take some fun pics on the stage.
WAY TO GO GRAMS!! It is never too late to start over, act young, and bravely enter a new chapter of life.
