A drag show, some dancing, and basketball

Many of you may be asking yourself, "what could a drag show, dancing and basketball possibly have to do with one another." If that is the case, you must not get out much because they can all occur with-in a 18 hour span of time in Dayton, O-H-I-O.

One fantastic part of being involved in the Dayton Athletic Department is that our facility is one of the best in the country for basketball. Due to the central location of Dayton and our facility we have the opportunity to host many NCAA basketball games. This year we hosted the women's regional round. It was exciting because Tennessee was in our region so I had some visitors from Terre Haute, IN and Mt. Pleasant, MI. Pat Summitt is amazing to see in person and Tennessee is like a national team, the gym was a sea of orange!

My good friends, Nathan from graduate school came down from Mt. Pleasant and then Jeff Edwards, Gina and Sharon Minar came in from Terre Haute, to watch the games. I really want to talk about the Saturday evening, the night before the games though (I mean basketball is exciting, but lets get to the drag show and dancing already).

Nathan, Jeff, Megan and I went to this gay bar called Masque here in Dayton. Nathan had never seen a drag show (what??!!) and Jeff's actual comment was "I can't believe they haven't changed at all over the years (what??!!). HA HA!! We didn't take any pictures of the drag show, but we had to get a pic of the winner of best spectator...or best hair, please look carefully to the right of Megan and Nate. YES, that is the longest mullet I have ever seen (hint, person in the white shirt)!!

OK - onto the dancing. So, I have known Jeff for about 7 years now. I would consider him to be like a "Renaissance Man" and I knew he could swing dance...but was I a little off the mark. All I can say is the man can dance and he got down! It was a blast and we need to do it again sometime!
